March 2013; What happened was......

<>

We got to build this Old Skool ironhead chopper chassis for Jessy.

The front forks are believed to be Arlen Ness 1970's ones

What we started with..

These were the home made rockers held on with normal bolts.

The spring rod bushings were missing.

<0>

Mocked up new rockers with 16swg sheet

Once we were happy, transferred template to 8mm 304 stainless plate

Welded the two plates together then drilled, cut & ground to shape

Then gave them a polish..

Onto the lathe to machine the bosses out of 304 stainless shaft to hold the oilite bushings

We're using DNA pivot bolts with new oilite bushes from local engineering supplier

Pressed the new bosses into the plates

Clamped them together ready to weld up.

Welded...

Bushings pressed in and reamed to correct size..

Ready to fit..

Bolted in place.

front hub is a triumph tiger cub

<>

Main Body Spring rod bushing holes were worn oval.

A bit of time with a reamer sorted them out...

Ready for new oilite bushes to be pressed in..

Finished.
